Typing for Beginners (ages 8-10)

Total Sessions: 5 sessions (40 minutes) 

In this class, the students will enhance their skills in keyboard typing. Students are taught the basics of keyboard layout, and proper finger placement, along with how to develop speed and accuracy. The method that will be emphasized is called the "Touch Typing" method, which focuses on teaching the skill of key stroke memorization. Instead of relying on "looking" at the keys, this typing style will help the learner to concentrate on increased accuracy and decreased error rate. These lessons are designed to allow students to work at a pace that feels comfortable to them. Typing exercises can be performed repetitiously encouraging a sense of self-confidence.
