Math Whiz (ages 11-13)
Total sessions: 16 (1 hour per session)
Sessions 1-4 Patterns, Functions and Algebra This course focuses on making generalizations and using a variety of representations to illustrate patterns, relationships and phenomena such as rates of change. Learners will be taught to use algebraic symbols and expressions to represent and analyze mathematical situations.
Sessions 5-8 Solving Word Problems Involving Multiplication and Division Learners will learn to interpret word problems involving multiplication and division and solve efficiently.
Sessions 9-12 Basic Entrepreneurship Learners will be taught how Math can be applied to develop entrepreneurial skills.
Sessions 13-16 Understanding Percentages These sessions will improve upon the learners' fundamental analytical and computational skills with a deep dive on solving for percentages of numbers.
